the end

This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

its time for bed so...

I'm going to eat something. yeah, you heard me. I'm going to attempt to combine two of my most favorite activities into roughly the same time frame. sleep, eat, eat, sleep. if it weren't so unhealthy you know you'd be doing it to so don't mock me.

cars suck: part III

they found it. yep, those good old boys in blue managed to respond to a call about an abandoned car on the corner of Willetta and 30th St. in Phoenix where, lo, they found my civic. yay. its all in one piece and works. yay. so, no new car for me which means no money out of my pocket. yay. just a weekend without my car.

no really, I am pretty psyched! so here's a big thank you to those crazy yahoos who took my car for a joy ride and robbed me of my car for a weekend. thanks for giving it back, not jerking it around to bad, and not making my life worse than you've already made it. thanks, i guess.

cars suck: part II

if you don't know already, my car was stolen this last week. this is why cars suck. i guess it would be more appropriate to say that people suck. but i won't be one to pin this generality upon the entire human population because of a few meatballs who've decided to abandon the ideas of personal property and ownership in favor of a looser definition of what is actually mine and not theirs. communism makes for great theory but practicing it upon others, especially myself just plain sucks. so if you see my car (Black Honda Civic EX, Arizona license plate 570 ADV) gimme a call or just call the cops. and if you find the idiot who did this please feel free to punch them in the face for me. the greatest thing about this whole mis-adventure is that my car is pretty much worthless in the grand scheme of things, except to me who has to come up with the dough to purchase a new one.

the best part of having your car stolen is that you will never get back the real worth of the car. sure, insurance will give you market value of the car but who's going to go out and purchase that exact same year car with the same amount of miles? you're telling me I should go out and purchase a '93 honda civic with 150,000 miles on it? and do what - wait another year or so like I'd planned and purchase a new(er) car? gimme a break. then there is just the hassle of going out and finding a new car and financing the piece of junk. this is why cars suck. some one better figure out teleportation real quick before I go nuts.

the good thing about all this is that I won't have to put up with that old Civic anymore. it was definitely starting to get old. creaks, whines, and other odd noises from just about every corner of the car. I'm good if they want to give it back but I'm ready for new car all the same.

man by day...

philosopher by night.

"man, life sucks when it gets soggy."

the totality of the truth of this statement has completely changed my life...or at least the way i eat life. regardless, i doubt my existence as a living, breathing human being would be all that great if it were soaked in a bowl of milk so i guess the statement could to a broader extreme.

good morning sunshine

I’m putting on my boots
To wade the river of sadness
Running outside your door

I’m slipping on my coat
To keep away the of tears
Falling from your red eyes

I’m grabbing my shovel
To dig my way through the depression
You’ve buried yourself under

I’m coming over to say hi.
“good morning sunshine”

(a poem I wrote that one day may make itself into a song)

my voice

a simple sibilant sound slips
from between my lazy lips

oh the misery of your life
is merely
the breath of my lungs
formed into words

my tongue
fire of my mind
rudder of my soul
revealing the foundations of wickedness
rooted at the core

tear it out
tear it out before
i say much more
than i already have

my voice sounds better when it is not voiced at all

me and my stupidly big, opinionated mouth. when will I ever learn? when?

Saturday, May 06, 2006

whew, they finally got rid of the Lakers! and what a way to do it: blow-out home game scoring 126 to 90! now on to the Clippers. I've gotta say that the Suns have to be one of the most exciting teams to watch. Sure other teams have one or two great players each who are fun to watch but the Suns whole team is awesome especially when its clicking! mad props tonight to Leandro Barbosa for having a career year and two huge playoff games in a row. and more mad props to Raja Bell for keeping the ever-scoring Kobe Bryant to 26 points during Kobe's 43 minutes on the floor (and only 2 of those were in the second half!).

in other news Sunday Morning Drive spent most of today in the studio which means there should be some new songs showing up on the website and on myspace soon. so check 'em often!

that's gotta be powdered sugar

so it rained in Phoenix yesterday. All day. and I guess it snowed everywhere else in the state cause when my family and I went up to Flagstaff today we pretty much were in view of some kind of snow all the way up! Super crazy! I've posted a picture looking out of the car on the I-17, out West at the Bradshaw Mountains. snow is so sweet!

so is my girlfriend!

waiting is forever

yeah, its been just about 2 minutes shy of never since I last graced this page with my witty (sometimes), informative (hopefully), great (always!) life commentary.

to be exact: 5 months, 1 day, 23 hours, and 5 minutes. or something like that. whatever.

so much has happened in 5 months, its been crazy! The band is going great! shows everywhere (13 in the next 8 weeks), a new member (David "The Key Man" Cosand), a brand new website (mad props to amie sassman!), and some awesome new songs.

Add to that a new job (R and R Images), multiple occurences of my car breaking down, and several trips to Flagstaff to visit the most wonderful girl in the world, among other things.

most recent news of great import: Mute Math is by far the best new band out there. No question. check out this rockin' vid of one of their live shows. I've never seen so much energy and musical talent in a while. they're a sweet mix of everything great: The Police, Radiohead, U2, and a little Bjork and DJ Shadow mixed in for good measure. you cannot afford to miss these guys. besides, their drummer can just about tear any house down with his crazy break beats. you have to love this stuff!

another sweet vid to check is Athlete. I don't think I've ever seen an atomic diagram with quite this many crazy dance moves.

on to great thing rumbling on the internet, Google is in the works on one of the greatest web projects to surface in a while: an online calendar with the ability to link with their incredible gmail service as well as share your events with others and in turn see and add theirs. I can't wait! here's some super secret screen shots and inside info.

well, that's it for tonight. I'm so ready to crash and burn.
